Fafá Island is one pearl in the chain of 12 offshore islands north of Nuku‘alofa, the capital of the Kingdom of Tonga. When you first set foot on this palm covered uninhabited island with shimmering white sandy beaches, its turquoise lagoon surrounded by a coral reef with magnificent colourful fish as the island commits to keeping the natural beauty of this tropical paradise alive.

Fafá Island‘s beaches invite you to do some private sunbathing and island walks in complete silence and tranquility.

You could of course swing away the day in your hammock with a good book and a delicious cocktail or even pamper yourself with a Polynesian massage.

Accommodation

There are only 13 fales (guest bungalows) on Fafá Island which means you won’t be meeting too many people. From 6 Deluxe and 7 Superior fales it is only a few steps to the beach and from the patio you have a breath taking view of the endless Pacific Ocean.

The fales are situated far apart from each other to ensure utmost privacy. They are built in traditional Tongan style with soaring high ceilings and natural materials: coconut palm poles, coconut thatched walls, roof with wooden shingles. They have a sitting area and a walk in wardrobe. The bathroom is semi-open with the shower in a private flower garden. They are equipped with ceiling fan, refrigerator, a hammock and beach beds.

Superior fale

The Superior Fales have a king size bed or twin beds. The bathroom is semi-open with the shower in a private flower garden. They are equipped with ceiling fan, refrigerator, a hammock and beach beds.

Deluxe Fale

The Deluxe Fales are larger in size and more exclusive than the Superior fales.

They have a big platform with a king size bed, a sitting area and a walk in wardrobe. The bathroom is semi-open with the shower in a private flower garden. They are equipped with ceiling fan, refrigerator, hammock, deck chairs and beach beds.

Honeymoon Fale

One of the most beautiful locations on the island is reserved for two Honeymoon fales.

They have a big bed platform with a king size bed, sitting area and a walk in wardrobe. They both have an additional large king size bed, one on a loft and the other in a separate fale with the most beautiful view over the Pacific Ocean.

The bathroom is semi-open with the shower in a private fl ower garden. The fale is equipped with ceiling fan, refrigerator, a hammock, beach beds and a swing on the large veranda.

Dining

Fafá Island Resort is renowned for its unique contemporary Polynesian European gourmet
dishes especially its seafood delights. The daily changing menu is prepared from fresh products from the local market. You may choose between eating a la carte and a meal plan. The open-air cocktail bar offers a wide range of beers, wines and tropical cocktails.

Activities

The Island has snorkel gear, paddleboards at your disposal. They also offer daily excursions to uninhabited islands and coral reefs. Scuba diving and sailing can be arranged, also excursions
on the main island Tongatapu.

During the whale season from July to October when hump- back whales travel from the Antarctica to the secure warm waters of Tonga to give birth, you may watch them playing around just off the beach or on a whale watching trip with our speed boat.

Accessibility

You fly to the only International Airport/Hotel OUTSIDE NUKU `ALOFA, on the main island Tongatapu (TBU).

On arrival you will be greeted by “Paea Tours” who transfers you in about 30 minutes to Faua-wharf. At Faua-wharf our boat will be waiting to sail you in another 30 minutes to Fafá Island.
